Therapeutic Modalities

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on the realationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Together we will work on developing and implementing changes to offer a healthier more positive outlook of undesirable thoughts and behaviors. CBT is effective for a variety of disorders including but not limited to: PTSD, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. 

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT is an effective treatment from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This is a highly structured modality that  generally lasts 12 sessions. We will examine how a trauma has altered beliefs about safety, trust, control and self worth. Through this process you will learn to change thoughts, feelings and behaviors to provide relief from PTSD Symptoms. 

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

SFT is a  short term therapy that is strengths based therapy that focuses primarily on the preferred future rather than problems that have occurred in the past. This modality highlights what is already working well for you in your life to help you achieve your goal in the shortest possible time. 

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic Therapy aids in identifying patterns of behaviors that are rooted in a persons  relationships with those that are closest with them. Once you have identified and understand how this experiences have shaped unproductive behaviors and feelings you can use this knowledge to learn to interact in ways that are healthier. 

Interpersonal Therapy

The primary focus is on a persons interactions with family and other close relationships. The primary focus is to improve interactions with others and identify negative patterns to enhance relationships. 

Mindfulness

Mindfulness combines CBT with mindfulness practices. This modality focuses on the present moment to enhance awareness of your thoughts, feelings and enhances compassion for oneself and others.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

MI aims to build motivation to make positive changes in your life. It addresses conflicting thoughts to combat ambivalence and has been proven to increase self-efficacy motivation, and can provide lasting change.
